Enfield North MP Nick de Bois says two attempted abductions of schoolgirls in the past two weeks are “very worrying.”

Two girls aged 11 and 16 were followed in the first incident in Southbury Road, Enfield, on Monday, October 13.

This was followed on Wednesday, October 22, by an incident in Baker Street, Enfield in which two eleven-year-old girls were almost snatched.

On both incidents a man and woman in a white van were watching the girls.

The Enfield North MP said: “These incidents are very worrying. The safety and protection of our children is paramount and I am assured all agencies, the police, schools and council are working hard to ensure that all possible steps to raise awareness of this threat.”

The pair who are wanted for the first incident are described as in their 50s with the man having cropped hair and the woman as having a bob style haircut.

The man in the second attempted abduction is described as mixed race or Mediterranean in appearance, with dark hair and believed to be in his 30s or 40s.

The girls also said he was walking in an unusual way, as if he had a limp.

The woman is described as white, in her late 30s, of medium build with very fair hair. She was wearing a white knitted jumper and had a small brown clutch bag.
