Calls have been made for more small businesses to bid for contracts from Enfield Borough Council.

A conference at the Dugdale Centre, in London Road, Enfield Town, will invite businesses to learn more about the contracting process; what current and future opportunities exist and how it can support businesses to become contract ready.

Councillor Don McGowan said: “Small and medium size businesses and sole traders are a significant contributor to the wider UK economy and within Enfield, driving growth and employment.

“However, due to their size and local authority procurement processes, these organisations may benefit from helping to understand the best way of bidding for contracts with the council, and we want to assist them.

“We are intending that this event will ensure delegates have the right tools to win contracts from both Enfield Council, and other local authorities, which will encourage prosperity and employment opportunities in the borough. All small and medium local businesses, and sole traders should sign up now.”

The event will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Monday.
