A councillor charged with assault will have to wait until the new year before his trial begins.
Enfield borough councillor Haydar Ulus is accused of assaulting a man occasioning actual bodily harm during an incident on February 20, 2014.
Cllr Ulus appeared at Wood Green Crown Court for the first time today and was bailed to return to the court on January 8.
His bail conditions include not making contact with the victim or an eye witness to the incident.
Cllr Ulus, who was elected in May's elections, has been suspended from the Labour Party and is currently representing Haselbury ward as an independent councillor.
