The man being held on suspicion of a brutal 'beheading' yesterday remains in hospital under an armed police guard.
Two people fled from their home on Nightingale Road, Edmonton to escape a man dressed in black with a knife, who was later arrested on suspicion of the murder of 82-year-old Palmira Silva.
The 25-year-old is still receiving medical treatment after police discharged a Taser during the confrontation, in which a police officer was injured.
Police have refused to name the suspect, who is still in police custody, until he is charged.
