Seven men have been arrested in Edmonton Green as part of a clampdown over the weekend of the Notting Hill Carnival.

The men, aged between 16 and 36, were arrested for multiple offences including; possession of a knife, three counts of possession of class B drugs, two counts of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and one count of failing to stop.

Enfield borough’s gang taskforce teamed up with specialist MPS officers and British Transport Police working at the carnival.

Superintendent Robyn Williams, Metropolitan Police spokesperson for the Notting Hill Carnival, said: “These arrests demonstrate that on the last day of the carnival we are as determined as ever to ensure that individuals who may be seeking to cause trouble at the carnival do not succeed.

“If you know of anyone who is seeking to use the event as an excuse to break the law, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
