A pervert who made lewd comments to a woman and touched himself on a train is wanted by the police.

The man sat opposite a woman in her 30s on a train from Enfield Chase to Hornsey on Wednesday, May 21, and began to touch himself inappropriately and shout insults at the woman as she got off the train.

The incident took place between 2.30pm and 3pm.

British Transport Police have identified a man on CCTV footage and are appealing for any information into the incident.

PC Ruth Taylor, who is investigating, said: “As well as being completely inappropriate, this behaviour was hugely intimidating for the victim. Everyone should be able to travel on the rail network without fear of becoming a victim of any offensive behaviour, including that of a sexual nature.

“We take sexual offences on trains, Tubes and at stations very seriously, and I would encourage anyone who has experienced or witnessed anything similar to follow this woman’s brave example by reporting it.

“The man was also seen touching himself inappropriately and began shouting insults at the woman, as she left the train at Hornsey station.”
