Edmonton MP Andy Love treated 300 volunteers to a tour of the Houses of Parliament.
Members of Enfield Voluntary Action, based at Community House, in Fore Street, Edmonton, who help provide volunteers across the borough, were given the tour by Mr Love as a belated celebration of the 30th annual volunteers’ week.
It was the third year the Edmonton MP has welcomed volunteers on the tour and was by far the largest turnout.
There are 155 voluntary organisations in Edmonton alone.
Mr Love said: “It was a privilege to play a small part in acknowledging the work some of our many, many volunteers in Enfield play in boosting local charities and organisations by rewarding them with a visit to Parliament.
“Having 300 volunteers come on the same day was a real achievement and wouldn’t have been possible without the organisational skills of Enfield Voluntary Action, who do a fantastic job of supporting local volunteers all year round.”
