Activists protesting against the redevelopment of a former university campus will learn the fate of the site today.

Campaigners at the former Cat Hill campus, on the border of Enfield and Barnet, have been standing their ground since February 4, with squatters occupying the site since April this year.

The battle against developers London and Quadrant (L&Q) over plans to build 231 homes on the site has continued over the past four years.

Squatters have been told to clear the site but campaigners have stood by their belief that L&Q is felling trees at the cost of the bat population and destroying the habitat of great crested newts.

The protesters will go before Barnet County Court, in Regents Park Road, Finchley, today at 2pm.
