A river trust is calling for volunteers to help to refurbish parts of the Enfield Lock.
The Canal and River trust is hoping to encourage people to get their hands dirty and help them refurbish the floating rafts around Enfield Lock.
The rafts are used to provide a diverse habitat for wildlife, and volunteers will be rewarded with a free barbecue for their efforts.
The refurbishment will take place between 10am and 3.30pm on Thursday, August 21 at the towpath in South Ordnance Road, in Enfield Lock.
Debbie Vidler, volunteer co-ordinator for the Canal & River Trust in London, said: “We want to provide easy opportunities for people to turn up to with no previous experience, meet existing volunteers and learn about other opportunities to get involved.
“One event a year can make a dent, but regular volunteer efforts will make a real difference to the thousands of people that use and visit them each week.”
