Volunteers filled dozens of bags with litter during a park cleanup day.
The Enfield Playing Fields group was joined by Councillors Jansev Jemal (Southbury ward) and Joanne Laban (Town ward) for the clear-up of the fields after winning a ‘capital clean-up kit’ from the Mayor of London.
The park currently only has one member of staff, who is currently painting white lines on the football pitches ready for the new season.
Friends group member Ruth Iqball said: “Our park is no worse, and probably cleaner than many, but it is very large and litter gets caught in the perimeter. I hate to say it but the biggest culprits - because they are the users, are young people.
“Love your park and keep it clean.”
