Eight parks have retained green flag status for another year.

Parks are given the award in recognition as some of the best open spaces in the country.

Pymmes Park, which recently hosted the Edmonton Summer Festival, is one of the parks to have retained its status.

Enfield Borough Council's cabinet member for environment Councillor Chris Bond said: “This is fantastic news for Enfield and especially for those succesful parks. The parks staff, past and present along with the friends groups continue to do a marvellous job in providing first rate facilities in parks across the borough for everyone to enjoy during the difficult economic period.

“I’d urge residents this summer to go out and see what is happening in our parks. Entertainment, new rivers, cycle paths, green gyms, pop up cinema's, all there to be used and enjoyed.

"We will strive to retain our Green Flags and working with the friends groups improves the best we can the parks experience in Enfield.”

Other parks included:
