A volunteer group has received more than £100,000 to help boost charities.
Enfield Voluntary Action (EVA), was given £123,000 by the City Bridge Trust to help charities across the borough.
The group which runs the borough’s volunteer centre, will see the money go towards improving financial management and training courses for charity workers.
Paula Jeffery, chief executive of EVA, said: “Enfield Voluntary Action is pleased to have been awarded a three-year grant as part of the “Strengthening London’s Voluntary Sector” programme.
“The grant will enable us to improve access by smaller groups, to the development of financial skills which will in turn facilitate successful grant applications to support disadvantaged people living in Enfield.”
Jeremy Mayhew, chairman of the City Bridge Trust, said: “Enfield Voluntary Action delivers a valuable service for charities and organisations working in Enfield.
“It supports essential operational and financial functions, helping to build the capacity and sustainability of charities in the borough. Helping organisations to improve their evaluation skills, for example, enables them to demonstrate clearly to funders the difference they are making.”
