A new cricket pitch has come to Ponder End Park in time for the cricket season.

At a cost of £10,000, the artificial pitch at the park in Sedcote Road, will be free for anyone to hone in their batting or bowling skills.

Enfield Council's cabinet member for environment and community safety, Councillor Chris Bond, said: “We listened to what residents and park users wanted and installed this wicket in response to what they asked for.

“We want to encourage as many people as possible to become involved in sport, it is good exercise and a great way to adopt a healthier lifestyle – I’d encourage all cricket fans, whatever their age or ability, to come along to Ponders End Park and hone their skills in this fantastic sport.”
