Sponges and buckets of soapy water will be replacing wine and wafers when a church offers motorists a free car wash today.

Workers at the Revival Christian Church, in London Road, will give up their time to spend hours with buckets, sponges and chamois leathers today.

Last year the church welcomed 75 cars throughout the day and Nick Chanda, pastor for the church, is hoping for even more this year.

He said: “It was a delight to see members of the Enfield community last year come out to get their car washed and we hope even more people can come along this time around.”
