A theatre company will be making the step up to perform at one of the biggest shows in London this summer.

Chickenshed Theatre, based in Chase Side, Southgate, will be performing at the Barclaycard British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park this week.

The theatre, which is giving free schools lessons and public performances this week, will perform this Sunday alongside Tom Jones, Little Mix and Boyzone at Hyde Park.

The company will perform two of its shows, Hallux Alive and London Bridges, free of charge from Wednesday to Sunday.

As the company prepares for one of its biggest performances, spokeswoman for Susan Jamson told the Enfield Independent the atmosphere has been “electric.”

She said: “The Tales from the Shed team from Chickenshed are delighted to be performing at this year’s Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park Festival.

“The atmosphere is electric in the park, and it is totally free for the general public every day – how amazing.

“We are performing free shows of our two amazing children’s play, Hallux Alive! for ages seven to 11 and London Bridges for three to seven-year-olds each day from Wednesday and then we are absolutely thrilled to be performing on the same bill as Tom Jones, Little Mix and Boyzone and many other great acts on Sunday at the Festival Day.”

The company will perform at the Barclaycard Theatre, which is located in the Piazza at the festival.
