A teenager cannot hide her excitement after claiming a spot at a beauty pageant national final.

Saffron Corcoran 17, of Bertram Road, in Bush Hill Park, was crowned Miss Teen Greater London 2014 and has booked her place at the grand final in Blackpool, in August.

Beating off hundreds of competitors across the capital, Saffron will be making her debut at a pageant final and will also be her final one as a teenager.

Revealing her excitement to the Enfield Independent, she said: “I was ecstatic, I didn't think I was going to make it through the semi-finals. I'm so happy to be representing my home on a national scale.

Saffron will go head-to-head with 32 other teenage girls to become Miss Teen Great Britain and could walk away with £1,000, a portfolio with FAB photoshoots and an indroduction to EKA Model Agency.

The teenager said: “This will be the biggest pageant I have competed in, I deliberately waited 2 years to compete to ensure I gained lots of experience and confidence before I walk the stage. This will be my final pageant as a teen so I'm hoping to leave the teen category on a high."

The event will take place over two days in with the competitors taking part inphoto-shoots and the first beauty queen challenge day.

She added: “Making it this far is a great achievement as I know how big this pageant is and how many girls are yearning to reach the finals. I am most looking forward to meeting the other contestants, pageants really bring us girls together and create lifelong friends.

“My parents are so proud and thrilled, they're currently helping me sort out appearances and have not stopped discussing the finals with me. I've never seen them this supportive.”
