Disability group One-to-One Enfield gets five year grant
A group helping people with learning difficulties get fit has been given a six-figure grant for the next five years.
One-to-One Enfield, celebrated ten years with the announcement of a £439,470 grant from the big lottery fund for the next five years.
To mark the occasion, former mayor of Enfield Chaudhury Anwar joined the charity at Green Towers Community Centre, in Edmonton to present 23 people who had been helped by One-to-One.
Chief Executive Lesley Walls says: “This is great news. This year would have been the end of 5 years funding from the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund. Being awarded funds for the next five years is recognition of the good work we are doing and acknowledges that that we have so much more to do.”
The living a healthy life programme has been run by One-to-One (Enfield), in partnership with Enfield Disability Action, Enfield’s Integrated Services Community Nurses and helped more than 200 people with learning disabilities.
