An Enfield address was raided as part of a major investigation into a Hungarian sex-trafficking gang this morning.
Addresses in five London boroughs and 15 brothels were stormed by officers from the Met’s trafficking and kidnap unit, who arrested six people. An address in Peterborough was also targeted.
The group under investigation is believed to have been involved in the trafficking of more than 100 girls and women for sexual exploitation.
The Met says it acted following information from the Hungarian Police and a joint investigation began earlier this year.
More recently, one of the alleged victims escaped from her traffickers and contacted police.
The organised crime group had been advertising sexual services online, including offering unprotected sex to clients.
The crime group is suspected of operating in other countries including Belgium, Austria and Germany.
Officers executed warrants during dawn raids at addresses in Newham, Kensington and Chelsea, Enfield and Waltham Forest today.
No further details of the Enfield raid have yet been released.
