A new cycle scheme to help disabled people ride specialised bikes will be launched next week.

The specially adapted bikes can be found at Bush Hill Park, in Enfield, and will be available from Tuesday, June 17.

The scheme, created by Enfield Borough Council, will open in the same week as National Bike Week.

Councillor Chris Bond, Enfield Council’s cabinet member for environment, said: “We are launching this new service so that people with a physical disability, mobility problem or learning difficulty can enjoy a beautiful park and some new found independence this summer.

“They will be able to try out different models, share bikes with friends or carers and have some fun and exercise in the fresh air.

"We have purchased cycles to meet almost every need with council funding; and thanks must go to the Friends of Bush Hill Park for their support.”
