Enfield Borough Council will mark the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings with a special event this week.
A series of events will take place at Reardon Court, in Cosgrove Close, Palmers Green this Friday.
Residents at the day centre for elderly people will recall the part they played in the war effort.
It will be one of Councillor Chaudhury Anwar's last duties as mayor. He said: "This event celebrates the people living at Reardon Court.
"For many of them D-Day was a significant turning point in the war when the battles on the Normandy beaches brought both a sense of horror at the loss of human life, but also a sense that the war was coming to an end.
"With music and song, Reardon Court is capturing something of the spirit that bound people together so long ago."
