Barnet’s lorry drivers were celebrated during National Truckers Appreciation Week.
Welcome Break, a motorway service operator, launched the inaugural appreciation week to recognise the UK’s estimated 300,000 lorry drivers.
Sally Traffic, who presents traffic reports on BBC Radio 2, joined in the celebration at Welcome Break’s South Mimms service station where she served drivers coffee, tea and bacon sandwiches.
Sally also invited truckers to pose for a picture and asked about their tales of the road and favourite driving songs.
Sally said: “Through my time as a radio traffic reporter I know how much truckers contribute to our economy and industry, and it’s high time they were shown the appreciation they deserve.”
