The Palmers Green festival has been given the go ahead for the third successive year.

Run entirely by volunteers, the festival will be held in Broomfield Park, Palmers Green and organisers hope to better its biggest ever crowd last year of 6,000.

Determined to make Palmers Green Festival sustainable in the long term, founder Phillip Chard, said: “This year we have established the festival as a not-for-profit community interest company.

“Everyone involved is a volunteer and all the funds from the day are invested back into the festival. Aiming to be financially secure will mean that we can keep coming back to Broomfield Park year-on-year.”

Latin dance, children’s activities and hundreds of stalls will be included in the plethora of events taking place on Sunday, September 7.

Volunteer coordinator Veronica Trew said: “On the day of the festival we need lots of people from early in the morning, helping with the set-up, to clearing up late in the evening. There are lots of ways people can help, even if it just for a few hours.  Lots of planning goes on through the year, so we are keen to hear from anyone now who feels they can offer something."

Mr Chard added: “With stall booking already open and busy we anticipate the same this year, so would encourage local traders and community groups, who are such a feature of the festival, to register as soon as possible.”
