An Enfield school was picked from hundreds across the country to represent London in a national tournament for young entrepreneurs.

Kingsmead School, in Southbury Road, Enfield went head to head with schools from Liverpool and Birmingham in the Young Entrepreneurs national final created by Deutsche Bank.

The school team won the innovation award for their product ‘Around the World in 80 Packs’ a series of entertaining activity packs to educate children in cookery.

The competition had a series of awards with more than 2,000 students taking part from 165 schools during the course of this year.

Clare Davies of Deutsche Bank UK said: “It’s an honour to judge the final of this year’s Young Entrepreneurs competition. Developing enterprising and innovative skills in the next generation is absolutely vital to their chances of succeeding in life, as well as playing a part in the UK’s ability to compete in global business.

“The students taking part have developed important skills, from teamwork to budget management and marketing, all of which will enable them to fulfil their future potential. I wish the well deserved winners many congratulations.”
