A controversial scheme to license landlords has been passed in Enfield despite anger from private landlords at a scrutiny meeting this week.
Enfield Borough Council has passed the scheme and has cited the high levels of antisocial behaviour as one of the main reasons for bringing the license in.
The license itself will cost landlords £500 over five years or £250 if they sign up before April 2015, when the license comes into effect.
Landlords claim that antisocial behaviour has nothing to do with landlords and that this scheme is only a profit making one for the council.
