Enfield Southgate MP David Burrowes will welcome members of the public to discuss their views on a multi-million pound cycling programme.

Scepticism has arisen from members of the public after Enfield Borough Council won a share of the £100million ‘mini Holland’ scheme.

Mr Burrowes, along with Costas Georgiou, chairman of Green Lanes Business Association (GLBA) will be speaking at the meeting this evening in St Monica’s Church in Stonard Road, Palmers Green from 8pm.

Initial plans, which resulted in the successful bid, will see cycle lanes run through Enfield Town centre and Palmers Green high street. The GLBA created this poster which has gone up in Palmers Green.

Enfield Independent:

The meeting is being hosted to gauge the opinion in the Palmers Green area of the new plans.

Enfield Borough Council has stated that consultation will take place for residents and businesses but this will not happen until after the local elections on May 22.
