Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a vicious attack on a Palmers Green woman during a burglary.
The 59-year-old was punched to the face after a man broke into her home in Connaught Gardens in Palmers Green on Friday, April 4 at 9.30pm.
The man, who is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build and with black hair, made off with a large quantity of Asian jewellery.
The woman found the burglar when she heard a noise on her landing and checked to see what was going on. She was then punched in the face by the man, who had an Eastern European accent.
She then managed to barricade herself in a bedroom and the suspect escaped through the front door.
