An MP voted for a freeze on energy bills which he said would have left thousands of Enfield homes £120 better off.
MP Andy Love voted last week to freeze energy bills which he says would have helped 41,506 households in his constituency of Edmonton save money.
Last year the Labour Party proposed freezing energy prices in a bid to reform the country’s "broken" energy market.
The proposals were not passed and Mr Love said: “I’m disappointed that the Government has once again ignored the issue of soaring energy bills.
“Constituents who are struggling to keep on top of their finances in the face of rising living costs come to me on a regular basis seeking help and advice.
“The Government had the opportunity to freeze energy bills and alleviate the pressure on so many local households but last week it chose not to. This is a kick in the teeth for struggling families.”
