A Southgate dental practice has raised more than £4,000 after donating two morning’s worth of their wages to an emergency dental charity.
Adams Dental Practice in Chase Side, Southgate, held two Saturday morning clinics on March 22 and March 29, giving 100 per cent of their takings to Bridge2aid.
The charity takes dentists, nurses and hygienists to Tanzania to provide emergency treatment.
Dr Alex Adams has just returned from a two-week visit to the African country and admitted he was delighted with the amount raised so far.
He said: “This was the first type of event that we have done and it has turned about to be very successful.
“So far, we have raised more than £4,400 and donations are still coming in and we are delighted with the donations.
“We always aim to have people seen and treated within 24 hours but in Tanzania, that isn’t the case. In Tanzania I was helping treat people who have had a pain for more than a year.”
The dentist is still urging people to donate by texting SELP99 to 70070 or via the Just Giving website: www.justgiving.com/DRRA
