People can find out about the area's nature and history at a series of free guided walks and tours starting at Trent Park next month.

The Cockfosters park will offer a variety of free walks and tours covering history, bird watching, evening bat walks and host of other subjects.

Funded by Enfield Borough Council’s residents priority fund, the tours wll be led by Trent Park expert Alan Mitellas.

Tony Halle, chairman of the Friends of Trent Park, said: “This year’s walks are even bigger and better than before, and we hope will encourage even more people to get out and about to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Trent Park. All the walks are free, and there is something for everyone.”

Councillor Bambos Charalambous, Enfield Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure youth and localism, said: “Last year the Trent Park Guided Walks programme brought in record numbers of participants, and this year we are expecting it to be more popular than ever.

“Funded by Enfield Council’s hugely successful ERPF programme, all the walks are free, and there is no need to book the majority of the events.”
