Aspiring make-up artists have offered people taking part in a national rowing competition Hollywood-style makeovers.

Students from the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London’s theatrical and media make-up department will offer their skills at the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships on Friday, March 21.

They will give young rowers wounds and scars during the competition at the Lea Valley Athletics Stadium in Edmonton.

The teenagers were invited to work at the event by London Youth Rowing (LYR).

Make-up students worked with LYR for the first time last year at Skills London, when the college invited LYR to join its stand at the major annual careers show held at ExCeL.

LYR coach Lawrence Farquarson was giving people the chance to attempt a popular rowing challenge at Skills London, while the theatrical media and make-up students offered fun make up and makeovers.

The event worked so well London Youth Rowing invited the college to one of its events.
