A translation and interpreting partnership in Enfield has won a national award.
Working together as part of the Newham Language shop, Enfield Borough Council won the Connecting People category in the Improvement & Efficiency Awards 2014 for its translation and interpreting partnership.
Newham Language Shop provides users with translation and interpreting services in more than 100 languages and dialects including British Sign Language and Braille.
Cabinet member for customer services, Councillor Achilleas Georgiou, said: “This award is the perfect demonstration of how hard our officers work to enable the people of Enfield to communicate with, contact and access our services on a daily basis.
“They won this award because of the hard work and effort that they put in to enabling everyone in Enfield to be able to communicate effectively.”
