An Edmonton school narrowly missed out on a place in the national final of an economics challenge.
Latymer School in Haselbury Road, Edmonton, competed in the Interest Rate Challenge London finals last month but fell short of a national place.
The team of four were among eight schools to make presentations on the current economic climate to the Bank of England’s monetary policy committee.
Pupils from Ilford County High School were eventually crowned champions and will go onto the final at the Bank of England on March 24.
Judging panel chairman Stephen Collins said: “It was a real pleasure judging the teams. The standard was extremely high and all the schools gave very polished presentations, making it very difficult to choose a winner."
