Seven blue badge fraudsters have been ordered to pay more than £2,800 after being caught using badges illegally.

A blue badge allows a disabled person, or someone carrying a disabled passenger, to park where they like.

But motorists caught misusing the badges have received fines after being prosecuted.

Candan Beyazkaya, of The Ride, Enfield, pleaded guilty to displaying a blue badge in a pay and display bay on July 18, 2013, without the badge holder being present and was fined £40. He was ordered to pay £200 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Maria Paschale, of Devonia Gardens, Edmonton, parked in a pay and display bay outside Greggs in Edmonton, and displayed a blue badge without the holder being in the car on October 12, 2013. She was fined £40, ordered to pay £250 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Huseyin Polat, of Haselbury Road in Edmonton, was found guilty in his absence of displaying a blue badge in a pay and display bay in Fore Street, Edmonton on July 23, 2013, without the badge holder being in the vehicle. He was fined £200, ordered to pay £474.31 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Bulent Garip, of Mount Pleasant Road, Bruce Grove, admitted parking in a pay and display bay in Fore Street, Edmonton, October 22 last year, and displaying a blue badge without the badge holder being in the car. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £250 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Durim Krasniqi, of Cedar House, Wood Green used a blue badge in a pay and display bay in Green Lanes, Haringey on 5 September 2013, without having the badge holder in the vehicle and was fined £40, and ordered to pay £250 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Cetim Mitoglu, of Buller Road in Bruce Grove, admitted displaying a blue badge in a pay and display bay in Cowper Road, Edmonton on 23 July 2013, without having the badge holder in the vehicle and was fined £40, ordered to pay £250 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Tanisha Watson of Blackstock Road, Islington, was found guilty in her absence of displaying a blue badge in a pay and display bay in Brick Lane, Enfield, on July 18, 2013, without having the badge holder in the vehicle during her visit.

She was fined £200, ordered to pay costs of £396.21 and a £20 victim surcharge.

All seven were ordered to pay the fines at Tottenham Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 20.
