A new path will be built to improve access to Hadley Wood train station.

The £28,000 project, led by sustainable transport charity Sustrans, will link the station to Waggon Road, providing pedestrians, cyclists and wheelchair users with a direct route to the station.

The work will be funded by Transport for London’s Greenaways programme.

The path will also form part of National Cycle Network Route 12, which will eventually span the entire borough from Hadley Wood to Enfield Island Village.

Councillor Chris Bond, Enfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for environment, said: “We’re determined to encourage people to ditch their cars and use alternative modes of transport and these pathways are a crucial element of achieving that goal.”
