A milestone was reached in Enfield as the 5,000th health check was made in the borough.
‘Your Place, Your Health, Your voice’ in Angel Community Centre in Upper Edmonton was the venue for the check-up.
The free health checks are organised by Enfield Borough Council and are available to anyone aged between 40 to 74 years old who have not had a heart attack, stroke, angina, diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol are entitled to a free health check up.
Councillor Christine Hamilton, cabinet member for community health and wellbeing, said: “It was great news to celebrate the 5,000th health check in Enfield, funded by Enfield Council. I had one myself and was also given lifestyle advice which I found useful, and which will help ensure that I live as long and a healthy life as possible.
“Even if you feel well in yourself it is easy to have a health check, and as we grow older some medical issues such as high cholesterol, blood pressure problems or diabetes can go unnoticed, so it is wise to get checked out.”
