A small prep school could represent Enfield Borough at the London Youth Games in two sports.
Salcombe Preparatory School in Chase Side, Southgate, may only have 200 pupils but its pupils been crowned under eleven champions in both basketball and hockey.
This is the second year in a row the school has achieved the double and it will now go onto compete at the London Youth games, Europe’s largest youth sports event, in at least one of the sports.
Salcombe’s head of sports Philippa Wallbank said: “Considering the small size of our school (200 pupils), for us to have become first in the borough for two sports is a great achievement and a credit to our pupils’ enthusiasm.
"We would like to thank one of our expert parents, Mr Shukla, for his role as hockey coach and for giving us his valuable time and expertise.”
