Children who like to be at one with nature will be able to get up close and personal at a birdbox-making day at half term.

Groundwork Hertfordshire will be running the nature and craft event at Bush Hill Park in Enfield on Thursday, February 20.

The event is organised by Friends of Bush Hill Park and Enfield Borough Council and will run in two sessions; from 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm.

Children will get to make bird boxes, feeders and bird masks from natural materials found in the park.

Philippa Statter, environmental education officer at Groundwork, said: “This is a fantastic day of hands-on activities for the family with the opportunity to have a go at making a birdboxes and bird feeders.”

Caroline Wilmer, Friends of Bush Hill Park, said: “Volunteers from the Friends group will be there on the day and are keen to welcome the younger generation’s involvement in the park.”
