Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne has expressed his gratitude to an Enfield garage after visiting them earlier this month.
Mr Osborne visited Ridgeway Garages in The Ridgeway, Enfield, on Thursday, January 9, as part of the launch of the Government's new Employment Allowance.
The allowance, to be introduced in April, aims to reduce the cost of recruitment by giving small businesses benefits of up to £2,000 to encourage them to expand.
In a letter to co-director Nick Kruczkowski, Mr Osborne said: “I am writing to thank you for welcoming me to Ridgeway Garages and for organising the visit. It was a pleasure to speak with your hardworking staff, and thanks to Mike Saunders for allowing me briefly to try my hand at fixing a car engine.”
“Be in no doubt that the Government is backing small businesses like yours all the way.”
