A book store in Enfield has decided to close its doors after three years of trading.

House of Books in Enfield Town shopping precinct has decided to close, leaving an empty shop in the town centre.

Adam Bloom, a director at House of Books, said: “Unfortunately we had to make this decision because the business rates were just not feasible for us, neither was the service charge.

“It’s disappointing because it is not nice to shut down any book shop, especially in the current climate. However in business, if a store is not making enough money then we have little choice.”

The final day of trading at the shop will be on Sunday, January 19.

Sharleen Runa, the store manager, said: “It is disappointing to close, we had some lovely regular customers. It had been a quiet year.”
