The average delay time on a London Underground line that passes through the borough is lower that its target, figures have revealed.

Excess journey time on the Piccadilly Line which includes Cockfosters, Southgate and Arnos Grove underground stations is below its target of 4.53 minutes- the lower the average excess journey time, the better the performance.

Between 15 September, 2013 and October 12, 2013, the excess journey time on the Piccadilly Line was 4.04 minutes.

However, this figure is an increase from the previous month’s figure of 2.84minutes.

Phil Hufton, chief operating officer of London Underground, said: “The autumn has been a challenging period on the Underground, but I’m pleased that my team has continued to work flat-out to maintain high levels of reliability.

"We’re on track to meet our target of further reductions in delays by the end of 2015 and, across the Tube, delays to customers’ journeys have been reduced by 37 per cent since 2008/09 and 53 per cent since 2003/04.”
