An Enfield student is one of five people in the UK to receive a student scholarship grant from a gardening foundation.

Samantha Jackson, 31, was granted £1,000 from horticultural charity the David Colegrave Foundation, which helps support people through their qualifications, for the second year running.

Ms Jackson studies at Capel Manor College in Bulsmoor Lane, Enfield, where she is taking a horticulture top-up course.

She has also completed a level three diploma in horticulture and recently worked as an intern at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.

Samantha said: “The foundation has supported me to continue to follow a passion in horticulture that I would have struggled to without.  I am extremely grateful for the financial assistance and will continue to work hard, progress and learn more about the stimulating world of horticulture.”
