Three men who were killed when a car collided with a lorry and caught fire have been named.

Jawad Qureshi, 28, of Headstone Drive, Harrow, died in the crash on the North Circular Road near the junction with Natal Road in Palmers Green on December 23.

His two passengers Toheed Robani, 34, of Litchfield Gardens, Willesden, and Haider Qureshi, 28, of Westfield Close, Kingsbury, also lost their lives in the crash, which happened just after midnight.

The three were in a Subaru travelling westbound, which hit the central reservation before colliding with a lorry travelling eastbound and catching fire.

Post mortems took place at Haringey Mortuary and both Jawad Qureshi and Haider Qureshi died as a result of multiple injuries. Mr Robani died due to head injuries.

The driver of the lorry suffered minor injuries.

A Vauxhall Astra was also involved in the collision.

Two men were taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries and both were discharged and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They have since been bailed until a date in late February.

Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit at Chadwell Heath Traffic Garage are investigating.
