A hard working couple have been rewarded for their services to young people in the Southgate Scouts as part of the New Year’s Honours List.
Roger and Hilary Baker have been dedicated to the third Southgate Scouts in Wilson Street, Enfield, for more than half a century.
Mr Baker, 73, a group scout leader, has been a member of the Southgate group for more than 60 years.
The pair, who now live in Cheshunt, have both been honoured with British Empire Medals.
Also recognised in the New Year's Honours was Kevin McLoughlin, founder and managing director of K&M Decorating.
He has been made an MBE for services to skills training in the painting and decorating trade.
Finally, City and Islington College deputy director Sacha Corcoran, of Southgate, has been given an MBE for services to education.
