Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving on the North Circular in the early hours of this morning.

Three people died after a car collided with a lorry and then caught fire on the A406 North Circular Road/Bowes Road, close to the junction of Natal Road in Palmers Green.

Police, the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade were called to the scene at 12.26am.

The three people were pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic officers are appealing for witnesses and information into the collision, in which a Subaru Impreza hit the central reservation before colliding with a lorry and catching fire.

A Vauxhall Astra was also involved in the collision.

Two men were arrested after being taken to North Middlesex University Hospital in Sterling Way in Edmonton, for minor injuries.

One man was discharged and then arrested. A second man has been arrested but remains in the Edmonton hospital at this time.

Police are appealing for any witnesses and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any cars travelling in a group, at high speed, on the A406.
