A dozen of the cleanest restaurants in the borough have been praised as part of a national scheme.

Enfield Borough Council is singing the praises of the 12 eateries to raise awareness of the National Food Hygiene Rating Schemes where people can see for themselves the hygiene of their local restaurant or takeaway.

All premises named by the council have consistently received a rating of 4 or 5 and include Agatha’s Kebab House in Station Road, Taste of Raj in Aldermans Hill and The Great Wall in Lancaster Road.

Also included are Vasilis in High Street, the Rocky Reef Fish Shop in Bush Hill Parade, Saathi Restaurant in Chase Side and Deserie Meze in Cockfosters Parade.

The final five in the list are Premier Café, in South Street, Pizzeria Olivetta, in Lavender Hill, George’s Fish Bar, in St Mark’s Road, Hunters Restaurant, in Cockfosters Road and Enzo’s Restaurant, in Chase Side.

Cabinet member for environment Councillor Chris Bond said: “The people on this list are a shining example of 'how to do' good hygiene they deserve to reap the commercial rewards from selling good quality food out of hygienic premises.”
