More than 250 people sang by candle light at a Christmas carol service hosted by North Middlesex University Hospital.
The hour-long event saw a mixture of traditional carols and choral music, with lessons led by the hospital’s chaplain, Dominic Fenton.
Joyce Aslan, chairman of the hospital’s patient representative forum, gave the first lesson and other readers included director of nursing Paul Reeves, head of midwifery Fiona Laird and hospital trust chief executive Julie Lowe.
The Bishop of Edmonton, the Right Reverend Peter Wheatley, led the prayers, while the congregation was accompanied by the Southwark Singers choir during the event last night at All Saints Church in Church Street, Edmonton.
Also in attendance were the mayor of Enfield, Councillor Chaudhury Anwar, and the mayor of Haringey, Cllr Sheila Peacock.
Pupils from St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School in Finchley performed jazz music before and after the service.
