Three tap dancers are on top of the world after returning from the world championships with gold medals.

Jordan Crouch, 17, Olivia Sinclair, 16, and Kamira Samuel, 14, all set out to win the top prizes at the World Tap Championships in Germany earlier this month.

The tap trio all from Enfield won four gold medals between them - helping to make it England’s most successful championships to date.

Olivia and Kamira emerged victorious in the junior small group category with five other dancers in their team while Mr Crouch achieved double glory by winning in the adult formation and adult small group sections.

Ms Samuel, who attends Oasis Academy in South Street, Ponders End, only auditioned for her part in the championships in April and this was her first championship.

Performing arts student Jordan has been dancing with Tap Attack - organisers of the England team - since 2011 while this was Ms Sinclair’s third competition.

Mr Crouch said: “To be part of England’s most successful year is amazing. We have worked so hard this year and for us to be crowned world champions has made all of the hard work worth it”.

England Head Coach and world record breaking tap dancer Jo Scanlan said: “Jordan, Olivia and Kamira have worked extremely hard to firstly be selected for this year’s England team, and then showed great determination, and sacrifice to be crowned world champions.

"There are around 2,000 tap dancers from nearly 20 countries and they should be very proud of their achievements."
