Lawyers at the Old Bailey will today set out the defence of a man who stabbed his wife to death last year.

Minta Adiddo stabbed his wife, Akua Agyeman, 15 times before running her over in Rigby Place, Enfield Island Village, on November  6, 2012.

The 38-year-old has pleaded guilty to manslaughter but not guilty to murder.

Mr Adiddo claims he had an excusable loss of control which caused him to stab his wife.

He claims the events unfolded on the evening of Ms Agyeman’s death when neighbour Oladapo Etti-Williams, who he alleges was having an affair with Adiddo’s wife, pointed a gun at his head and mocked him.

So far, the jury has heard evidence from the prosecution including Mr Etti-Williams, who came under heavy scrutiny from defence barrister Jonathan Higgs about his relationship with Agyeman.
