Campaigners are making a last ditch attempt to save Chase Farm Hospital’s accident and emergency ward this weekend.
An occupation of Chase Farm’s A&E in The Ridgeway, Enfield has been organised by campaign group North East London Council of Action (NELCA) on Saturday, December 7.
The group have already staged numerous protests including a march on October 26, and a failed occupation of the maternity ward last month.
A&E services are due to close on Monday, December 9, with the maternity unit already closing on November 20.
Protesters will gather at 1pm at Enfield Town War memorial in Windmill Hill and march to the hospital.
NELCA will also be staging a mass picket outside hospital from 8am until 2pm today.
Services at the Enfield hospital are being downgraded as part of the Barnet Enfield and Haringey strategy to streamline services from Chase Farm, Barnet Hospital in Wellhouse Lane, and North Middlesex University Hospital in Sterling Way, Enfield.
