A FARMER was airlifted to hospital after he suffered head and serious back injuries when his tractor overturned in a collision with a car.
The 47-year-old farmer, from Eggleston, County Durham, was hurt when his Zetor tractor was involved in a collision with a Seat Altea on the A66, close to Bowes, County Durham, at 1.05pm today. (Friday, October 25)
The farmer was airlifted by the Great North Air Ambulance to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, and is in a stable condition.
The A66 was closed to allow the air ambulance to land and to recover the vehicles.
The Altea driver, from Nottingham, was taken by ambulance to Darlington Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
